1 cup basmati rice or long grain rice , washed and drain .

2 cup water or stock

1 cup chick pea , boiled and drain or canned chickpeas

1 tbs olive oil

1 tbs butter

Sea salt to taste


Melt butter and olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium – low heat . Add the rice and cook , stirring for  2-3 minutes , add chickpeas . Add the water or stock , salt. Cover it . Bring to the boil and reduce heat to low . Cook it until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed . Remove from heat and set aside for 5 minutes , then

serve it .
