I have a perfect and special Turkey recipe for you . This turkey recipe is great any time of the year or for Christmas and so delicious . It is outside crusted and inside juicy , tender . Step by step instructions with photos and how to make marine and roast turkey for Thanksgiving .
1 turkey , 5 kg ( 11pound)
FOR MARINADE SAUCE INGREDIENTS :
1 cup fresh orange juice
3 tbsp butter , room temperature
4 tbsp olive oil
1 cup plain yogurt
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tbsp brown sugar
8 cloves garlic , chopped
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp sea salt
1 tbsp fresh mint , chopped
1 tbsp fresh rosemary , chopped
1 tbsp fresh thyme , chopped
1 tbsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp black pepper, ground
1 tsp cayenne
1 tbsp lemon peel , grated
Combine the orange juice , butter , olive oil , yogurt , soy sauce , brown sugar , garlic , honey , sea salt mint , rosemary , thyme , red pepper flakes , black pepper , cayenne , lemon peel in a medium size bowl , mix them and set aside .
FOR PREPARING TURKEY :
1- Remove the neck and giblets . Wash and drain. Lay the turkey breast side up . Use your fingertips and work your way under the skin of the turkey to separate from the breast to turkey legs and develop a packet . Fill a kitchen syringe with the marinate sauce and inject in the breast, wings, legs and the back .
2- Rub the turkey with the marinate sauce. Place the turkey in a deep oven tray and pour remain sauce on the turkey and cover it with a plastic wrap. Place the turkey in your refrigerator for at least 5 hour or overnight .
FOR COOKING DIRECTIONS :
1- Preheat your oven 220 degrees centigrade ( 428 Fahrenheit ) . Remove the turkey from refrigerator and set aside in your room temperature for 50 minutes . Place the turkey and veggies on a sheet tray and pour the remaining marinade sauce on your turkey . Cover it a oven paper and aluminum foil. Place it in the oven .
( or 2 .option , Place oven bag in a deep roasting pan , add 1 tbs flour into bag and shake to coat it , place your turkey in the bag , seal the oven bag with its ties and pierce the bag upper side ,place it your oven.)
2- Roast your turkey for 2 hour . After 2 hours , remove the foil and oven paper so the skin gets golden and crispy. To check the turkey is cooked , if you are at all worried just stick a meat termometer in the thickest part of the turkey. When the internal temperature has reached 70 -75 degrees C. it is ready to come out .
3- Let it rest for 20 minutes before serving.
4- You can use the turkey juice for preparing sauce. Blend the veggies and the turkey juice until smooth , add a little lemon juice in it, taste and serve it with the turkey .
