GRILLED TERIYAKI CHICKEN

This teriyaki chicken recipe is easy, you can use any chicken pieces you like. It’s juicy, tender, smokey, with a little bit of sweetness and its taste great and the sauce is so delicious! Enjoy it!

                     INGREDIENTS

1 tbsp olive oil, for frying

200gr. Boneless, skinless chicken breast or chicken thighs

1 tbsp sesame seeds, preferably toasted, to serve

1 clove garlic, minced

Sea salt , red pepper flakes to taste

FOR MARINADE SAUCE INGREDIENTS

4 tbsp mirin

5 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp brown sugar

4 tsp rice vinegar or apple vinegar

1,5 tsp cornstarch

1,5 tsp fresh root ginger, grated

Put all the ingredients into a small saucepan and stir well. Put half of the sauce into a bowl and use for chicken marinade. Pour remain sauce into a small saucepan and bring to the boil and bubble for a couple of minutes, a thick syrup. Let it cool and set aside.

DIRECTIONS

Preheat your oven to 205 degrees C./400 degrees F.

1= Put boneless chicken breast in to the teriyaki sauce, add minced garlic and leave to soak 15-20 minutes.

2- Put 1 tbsp olive oil and heat the grill to its highest setting.

3- Grill about 2 minutes on each side, and transfer to a baking tray, cover with a aluminum foil.

4-Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes.

5- Slice the chicken into large pieces and pour the sauce over them. Sprinkle with sesame seeds to serve.
