Bake time: 15-25 minutes
I love this simple apple tart and if you want to make a very quick, delicious dessert, you can try it too. This apple tart is practically effortless and it is easy to make with my easy step by step recipe photos. Enjoy it!
2 cups all purpose flour
200 gr. unsalted cold butter,
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg yolk,
1 egg white for brushing on top the tart
A pinch of salt
2 tbsp cold water
1/2 cup extra all purpose flour for dusting
– FOR FILLING INGREDIENTS –
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, sliced
1 cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup walnut, chopped
Combine the sugar and sliced apple, cinnamon, walnut in a saucepan, cook over the medium heat for 5 minutes or cook until all the liquid has evaporated and darker in color, remove from the heat, Set aside to cool.
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees C. and grease your tart pan with butter.
1- Combine the flour, powdered sugar, salt, butter in your electric food processor ( or mixing by hand in a medium bowl , add the egg yolk, water, vanilla to the flour, mix gently until the dough coming together.) use low speed and mix them together for 2 minutes or until the butter and flour just starts to combine evenly, though quite coarsely.The dough will not come together at this point and add the cold water, egg yolk,vanilla to the flour mixture. On low speed, mix until the dough just starts coming together, about 30 seconds. Make the dough form a ball, wrap it tightly with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerates for 15-20minutes.
2- Remove the tart dough from the refrigerator, place the dough over the dusted kitchen table, roll the dough and 1 cm. thick. Line it in your tart pan, press the tart dough against bottom and sides of pan, place the apple filling in the tart dough. Fold the dough sides on the apples and decorate it remain dough. Brush the dough with the egg white.
3- Place the tart into preheat oven and bake for 15-25 minutes or bake it until pale yellow color.
4- Allow the tart to cool and serve it .
Place, apple slices, cinnamon, sugar, walnut in a saucepan.
Put flour, butter and icing sugar in a food processor and mix it all together. Then add the egg, water and vanilla extract until it becomes a dough.
Wrap your dough and keep it to chill in the fridge for 15 to 20 mins.
Take your dough out and roll it out. Place it in your tart pan.
Spread the apple filling in the dough and decorate the top as you desire.
Brush some egg whites on top and place it in the oven.
Bake until golden (about 15-20 mins for me but depends on your oven)
