Rosti is a Swiss dish and it is made from potato also it can be described like a potato pancake. When I went to Switzerland I tried potato rosti and it was super delicious, therefore recently, I have made Swiss Potato Rosti for my family and my friends, I tried a different technique which made the rosti crisper on the outside, but did gentle interior and it was topped with cooked egg and served with salad, they were happy for trying Swiss potato rosti and it was very tasty. Therefore, I want to share my Rosti recipe with you. Enjoy it!
3 medium size potato , boiled , peeled , grated, seasoned with salt and pepper.
2 medium size raw potato , peeled , grated, seasoned with salt and pepper.
1 tbs butter
1/2 cup cheddar cheese , grated.
Sea salt to taste
Grounded chilli pepper to taste
1 egg and 1 tsp butter-(egg cooked with butter for potato rosti)
Add the cheese ,salt ,pepper in the boiled and grated potato , set aside. Heat the butter in a medium, nonstick frying pan, at the medium heat . The butter is melting , remove the pan . First, place half of the row grated potato and press down by a spatula. Then place the boiled grated potato and press down again by your spatula.
Second, place remaining row grated potato onto the pressed potato and press down again by the spatula. Fry it about 10 minutes until golden brown and crispy over the medium heat. Place a flat plate over the top of the frying pan and invert it and cook the other bottom . Then cook the egg with the butter and place the cooked egg on to the Rosti . Serve immediately it.
